Mountain Province is the Cordillera highland region home to Sagada, Bontoc and the ancient burial practices of the Kankanaey and Bontoc peoples. The winding drive from Baguio City takes 5 to 6 hours through rice-terrace valleys and pine forests. Cool climate year-round. Cultural tourism -- hanging coffins, cave systems and indigenous village visits -- is the draw.
Getting there
Bus from Manila (Victory Liner / Genesis) to Baguio, ~5-6 hrs. For Sagada, jeepney or van from Baguio.
Best time to visit
November to April — cool, dry weather perfect for trekking.
