Laguna province south of Manila is known for its hot springs in Los Banos, the Seven Lakes of San Pablo and the national hero Jose Rizal's birthplace in Calamba. Pagsanjan Falls (accessible from Laguna) is famous for the canoe-ride rapids through a canyon. Laguna de Bay, the country's largest lake, forms its northern boundary.
Getting there
Fly MNL-LAO (Laoag) or take a 6-8 hr Victory Liner bus from Manila.
Best time to visit
November to April — dry season with pleasant temperatures.
