The city tour covers Silliman University (the oldest American university in Asia, established 1901, beautiful campus), Rizal Boulevard (the sunset strip of restaurants and bars facing the sea), and the Belfry of Dumaguete (a Spanish watchtower that served as a lookout against Moro raids).
The highlight is Casaroro Falls in Valencia — a 30-minute drive followed by a 30-minute downhill hike through the jungle to a 30m waterfall dropping into a deep natural pool. The hike is steep but well-maintained.
