About this tour

Your first breath underwater in Boracay

Boracay is not just a beach destination - its surrounding waters hold vibrant coral gardens, resident reef fish and clear, warm conditions that make it an excellent place to try scuba diving for the first time. This "discover" experience is designed for complete beginners: no certification needed, just a short briefing, a shallow confined dive to get comfortable, and then your first real open-water dive along Boracay's reefs.

Learning the basics

You start on land or in shallow water with a qualified instructor, covering the essential skills - breathing through a regulator, clearing your mask, and basic hand signals - in a relaxed, unhurried setting. Once comfortable, you head out by boat to one of Boracay's dive sites for your first proper dive, with your instructor beside you the entire time.

What you will see

Boracay's reefs are home to colourful coral formations, clouds of reef fish, and often sea turtles gliding past. Descending slowly with a professional guide, first-timers are often amazed at how calm and accessible the experience feels - weightless, quiet, and utterly different from snorkelling at the surface.

No experience required

This is specifically built for people who have never dived before. All equipment is provided and included, and instructors are trained to work with nervous beginners, keeping the pace slow and reassuring throughout. Many first-time divers leave inspired to pursue a full open-water certification afterwards.

Good to know

Wear swimwear and bring a towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes. You should be reasonably comfortable in water and in good general health; some operators ask for a simple medical declaration. Photos or video of your dive are often available as an add-on - a great way to remember your first breaths beneath the waves.
