About this tour

You don't need to be a certified diver to walk on the ocean floor in Boracay. The helmet dive (sea walking) experience lets you descend a few metres beneath the surface wearing a specially designed helmet that keeps your head completely dry, so you can breathe normally and even keep your glasses on while you stroll across the seabed and meet the fish up close.

After a short safety briefing, you climb down a ladder from the boat and the weighted helmet is placed over your head, supplied with a constant flow of air from the surface. Reef fish dart around you, the staff hand-feed them so they gather close, and a guide stays with you the whole time. It's calm, beginner-friendly and surprisingly easy — popular with families, non-swimmers and anyone who's always wanted to experience the underwater world without scuba training.

The whole experience takes only an hour or two, making it a perfect add-on to a Boracay beach day. Instant confirmation through Klook, with the dive run by an established local operator.

About the area

Boracay, in Aklan province, is the Philippines' most famous beach island — four kilometres of powder-white sand on its western shore and a buzzing strip of bars, restaurants and water sports. Its sheltered reefs and calm bays make it a hub for everything from helmet diving and parasailing to sunset sailing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to swim?
No. Because you walk on the seabed and the helmet keeps you breathing normally, helmet diving is suitable for non-swimmers. A guide stays with you throughout.
How deep do you go?
Helmet dives stay at a shallow depth of a few metres, where light is good and fish are plentiful.
Can I wear glasses?
Yes — your head stays dry inside the helmet, so you can keep your glasses on if you need them.
