Baguio to Banaue Overnight Cordillera Package
About this tour
The Cordillera highlands contain some of the most spectacular scenery in Southeast Asia, but most visitors only scratch the surface from a single base. This two-day package links Baguio — the approachable entry point with its pine parks and colonial history — with Banaue's ancient rice terraces, covering 250 kilometers of mountain roads that wind through Ifugao and Benguet provinces in comfortable, experienced hands.
Day 1 explores Baguio: Burnham Park, Mines View, BenCab Museum, and lunch on Session Road — a solid half-day in the Summer Capital before the afternoon drive north on the Halsema Highway, often called the Philippines' most scenic road. The highway climbs to 2,255 meters at its highest point, cutting through cloud forest and past Cordillera vegetable farms that supply Manila's markets. Arrival in Banaue is at dusk; dinner and overnight at a mountain-view guesthouse.
Day 2 is the Banaue experience: early morning at the Banaue Viewpoint when the terraces emerge from mist, followed by a jeepney ride to Batad saddle and the trek into the bowl-shaped village. Optional hike to Tappiyah Falls before lunch at a Batad homestay. The drive back to Baguio (or onward to Manila on the overnight bus) traces the same spectacular highway in the golden afternoon light, with stops at Ifugao roadside markets selling purple yam, peanut brittle, and hand-woven textiles.
