Vigan in a day — Spanish-era streets and the best empanada

Vigan is like stepping into the 1700s. Calle Crisologo at night, lit by lanterns with the kalesa horse-carts clopping by, is pure magic. I stayed one night to catch it both after dark and early morning before the crowds.

Don't leave without a Vigan empanada (crispy, with longganisa and egg) and a bottle of local basi wine. It pairs beautifully with the Bantay bell tower view.
