How do I get around Manila without getting stuck in traffic?
Use the LRT Line 1 and MRT Line 3 during rush hour — they are slower than Grab but immune to gridlock. Avoid EDSA by car between 7–9 AM and 5–8 PM.
Is Manila safe for tourists?
Central tourist areas — Intramuros, BGC, Makati, Ermita — are safe with normal big-city caution. Use Grab instead of hailing street taxis and keep phones out of sight in busy markets.
How many days should I spend in Manila?
Two days is enough to cover the main sights without feeling rushed. Most travellers use Manila as a one- or two-night gateway before flying to islands — which is a perfectly sensible plan.
Where should I stay — BGC, Makati, or Intramuros?
