As a solo female, is it okay to take night ferries or overnight buses?
Trying to save on accommodation by travelling overnight but a bit nervous.

Generally yes, lots of Filipinas do it solo. On overnight buses (e.g. Manila to Bicol on a reputable line like DLTB, roughly PHP 1,000-1,300) sit near the front and loop your bag strap around your leg; A/C is freezing, so bring a jacket. Did several overnight legs solo and felt safe. The 2GO night ferry was actually a highlight, sunset on deck then sleep through to the next island. I'd just avoid arriving at a port at 3am with no plan; book somewhere that allows early check-in or wait for daylight in the terminal cafe.
