Kalinga province in the Cordillera is the ancestral home of the Kalinga people, famous for their centuries-old tradition of hand-tapped batok tattoos. Buscalan village is the pilgrimage site for the legendary Apo Whang-Od. The Chico River cuts through dramatic gorges and the region has some of the finest highland cultural tourism in Southeast Asia.
Getting there
Bus from Manila (Victory Liner / Genesis) to Baguio, ~5-6 hrs. For Sagada, jeepney or van from Baguio.
Best time to visit
November to April — cool, dry weather perfect for trekking.
