Ifugao is the mountain province home to the Banaue and Batad rice terraces, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The Ifugao people have maintained these hand-carved paddies for over 2,000 years using an intricate irrigation system from the forest above. A living cultural landscape and one of the engineering wonders of the ancient world.
Getting there
Bus from Manila (Victory Liner / Genesis) to Baguio, ~5-6 hrs. For Sagada, jeepney or van from Baguio.
Best time to visit
November to April — cool, dry weather perfect for trekking.
