Cagayan province forms the northern tip of mainland Luzon -- home to Palaui Island, one of the Philippines' most pristine and protected coastal islands, and the surfing beach at Anguib in Santa Ana. The Cagayan River, the longest in the Philippines, runs through the province. Tuguegarao City is the regional hub and airport entry point.
Getting there
Fly MNL-LAO (Laoag) or take a 6-8 hr Victory Liner bus from Manila.
Best time to visit
November to April — dry season with pleasant temperatures.
