Should I book domestic flights and ferries ahead or wing it?

Book the big internal FLIGHTS ahead — routes like Cebu-Puerto Princesa or Manila-Palawan sell out and prices climb fast near the date, especially Dec-Jan and Holy Week. Ferries you can usually grab a day or two before, except the El Nido-Coron fast ferry which fills up in peak season — book that one online a few days early. Leave buffer days; bad weather cancels boats and you don't want a same-day flight to miss. Map it on /route.
I locked flights in advance and kept ferries flexible — worked perfectly. One tip: don't book a domestic connection same-day as your international flight home. We had a Coron ferry cancelled by weather and nearly missed everything. Build in a slack day in Cebu or Manila.
