Is Siquijor actually scary because of the witchcraft stories?
I keep reading that Siquijor is the 'island of sorcerers' and I'm a bit nervous about visiting.

Don't worry po, Siquijor is one of the safest, friendliest islands in the country. The mananambal (folk healers) are real, but they brew herbal healing oils and love potions, not curses for tourists. During Holy Week they gather in barangay San Antonio and mix remedies on Black Saturday. People here are gentle, and the spooky reputation is mostly folklore now.

Spent 5 days there and felt totally relaxed. Rent a scooter (around PHP 350-450/day) and loop the whole island in a day: Cambugahay Falls, the giant balete tree, Salagdoong cliff jumps. The witch stuff is just fun folklore locals joke about. Way more chill than Boracay.
