Is one day enough for Vigan or should I stay overnight?

Stay at least one night, ang ganda kasi ng evening. Calle Crisologo looks magical after dark once the day-trippers leave, and the free dancing fountain show at Plaza Salcedo runs nightly around 7:30 and 8:30pm. Daytime: visit a burnayan (pottery), Bantay bell tower, and eat real Vigan longganisa and empanada (~PHP 40-60 each) at the public market. A kalesa ride is about PHP 150.
Honestly Vigan is far from everything (8-10hrs from Manila by bus, ~PHP 750), so after that journey you'll want the overnight to enjoy it. Heritage rooms inside the old ancestral houses go for around PHP 2,000-3,500. Combine it with Pagudpud or the Ilocos windmills since you're already that far north.
