How do I actually get to Camiguin and is it worth the effort?
It looks gorgeous in photos but the logistics seem complicated from Manila.

Totally worth it. Standard route: fly Manila to Cagayan de Oro (CGY), take a bus/van up the coast to Balingoan port in Misamis Oriental (about 1.5-2hrs, ~PHP 200), then the RORO ferry to Benoni, Camiguin (~PHP 300-360, roughly hourly 4am-6pm). There's no reliable direct CGY-Camiguin flight now, so the land-and-ferry combo is how everyone goes. Allow a half-day either way.
Did it in May and the island is unreal for its size: White Island sandbar, the Sunken Cemetery, Sto. Nino soda water pool, Katibawasan Falls. You can scooter the whole circumference in a couple hours. Bring cash, ATMs are limited. Check /ferry-vs-flight if you want to weigh the CGY land route against flying into other Mindanao gateways first.
