El Nido or Coron — which should I visit first?
I only have time for one part of Palawan. Which is better for a first trip?

Both are stunning but different. El Nido = dramatic limestone lagoons, more beaches and a livelier town; great if you want island hopping + nightlife. Coron = world-class WWII wreck diving, crystal lakes (Kayangan, Barracuda) and a quieter vibe. If it is your first trip and you love beaches + lagoons, start with El Nido. If you dive, Coron wins. Many do both — the fast ferry between them takes ~4 hours.

We did El Nido for 4 nights then ferried to Coron for 3. No regrets. Book the Montenegro/ferry a day or two ahead in peak season.
