Banaue vs Batad rice terraces — which should I prioritise?

If you can only do one, choose Batad. Banaue's main viewpoint is iconic but you see it from the roadside. Batad is the amphitheatre terraces from the postcards, and you actually walk through them down to Tappiya Falls. It's now a ~15-30 min hike from the saddle road, not the brutal hour it used to be. A local guide runs roughly PHP 800-1,200 and is worth it for the Ifugao stories. There's also a small heritage/registration fee (~PHP 50).
Stayed in Batad itself for two nights and sunrise over the terraces from a homestay (~PHP 500-800/night) was my trip highlight. Bus from Manila to Banaue is an overnight Ohayami/Coda ride (~PHP 700-950, about 9hrs). Go Nov-April so the trails aren't mud and clouds don't swallow the view.
