Cebu Activity Prices, Indexed: What 85 Bookable Trips Reveal About the Province

For travellers planning a Cebu itinerary and deciding which trips justify a whole day. Prices are PHP per person from our own bookable inventory. Last checked 8 August 2026.

Standard caveats. These are bookable rates carrying operator margin; cash prices arranged locally, especially for the southern waterfalls, run lower. Prices move with fuel and season. Entrance and environmental fees collected on site - Kawasan, Oslob, Tumalog - are usually separate from the tour price.

The lowest entry price we index anywhere

PHP 300 for Tumalog Falls and PHP 350 for Aguinid Falls are the two cheapest products in our entire Philippines inventory. Ten Cebu trips come in at PHP 1,000 or under, including the Ocean Park at PHP 600, the Parian heritage walk at PHP 900 and the Oslob whale-shark encounter itself at PHP 1,000.

That last figure is worth pausing on, because it exposes how the market works. The whale-shark interaction costs PHP 1,000. Tours selling that same encounter as a day trip run PHP 1,850 to 8,425. The difference is transport from Cebu City and back - roughly three hours each way - not better access to the animals.

Sixty-three full days out of eighty-five

The duration profile is the most lopsided we have seen: 63 of 85 trips are logged as full day, with a scattering of 2-, 3- and 4-hour options and a handful of multi-day packages. One trip is honest enough to label itself 14 hours, and another says full day (10-12 hrs).

Geography explains it. Cebu is a long, thin province, and the headline attractions sit at opposite ends of it - Oslob and Kawasan in the far south, Malapascua off the northern tip, the heritage sites in the city. Almost nothing is close to anything else, so almost everything becomes a day.

The planning consequence is concrete. A week in Cebu realistically holds four or five of these day trips, not ten, and back-to-back southern days mean two consecutive 04:00 starts. Basing yourself in Moalboal or Oslob for a night removes an entire round trip and is usually cheaper than the private-vehicle upgrade that promises to make the day shorter.

Canyoneering is the province's real speciality

Nineteen of 85 trips are canyoneering and falls - the largest category by some distance, and proportionally far bigger than anything comparable elsewhere in our inventory. Kawasan Falls in Badian is the anchor, and the products range from a PHP 1,850 shared day to a PHP 11,070 version with ziplining attached.

Worth knowing before booking: canyoneering here means jumping, swimming and scrambling through a river gorge for several hours, not a viewpoint stop. It is graded as adventure rather than sightseeing for good reason, and the cheap end of the range and the expensive end differ mainly in group size, gear quality and whether transport is private.

Where PHP 3,200 sits, and why nine trips share it

After PHP 1,850, the second-hardest price cluster is PHP 3,200, shared by nine trips. Reading their titles, these are almost all two-attraction combinations - Oslob whale sharks plus Moalboal sardines, or a waterfall paired with a coastal stop.

That is the honest middle of the Cebu market: roughly 70 percent more than the single-destination day, in exchange for a second headline sight and a longer day. Whether it is good value depends entirely on how much driving you are willing to trade for a second stop.

What most guides get wrong about Cebu

The usual framing treats Cebu as a beach destination that happens to have some waterfalls. Our category spread says the opposite: canyoneering and falls is the biggest single category at 19 trips, while island hopping accounts for exactly one and beach tours for one. Cebu is an adventure and day-trip province where the beaches are mostly in Mactan and Malapascua, not the main event.

The second error is quoting Oslob whale sharks as a simple bucket-list item. The interaction is provisioned - the sharks are fed to keep them in the bay - and that is contested on welfare and behavioural grounds. DENR guidance on interacting with protected marine species is the right thing to read first, and Malapascua's thresher sharks are the wild alternative in the same province.

Third, guides routinely present Kawasan and Oslob as an easy pairing. They can be combined, and 12 trips in our index do it, but the result is a 14-hour day with a pre-dawn start. Presenting that as a relaxed option is how people end up spending their Cebu holiday in a van.
