Larena is Siquijor's port town where fast ferries from Cebu and Dumaguete dock. Most travellers pass through quickly on their way to San Juan (30 min by tricycle) or Lazi (40 min). The Larena market is lively on weekend mornings. A few budget guesthouses make it a workable overnight base.

Fly MNL-LGP (Legazpi) or overnight bus/train from Manila.
Best time to visit
March to May — whale shark season; November to April for hiking.
