Davao Oriental faces the Philippine Sea on Mindanao's eastern coast. Mati City is the provincial capital and gateway to Dahican Beach -- the top skimboarding beach in the Philippines. The Pujada Bay coastline and the rugged Caraga coastline to the north are almost entirely undeveloped. The province is worth the long drive from Davao City for its raw natural beauty.

Fly MNL-CGY (CDO) then bus or van to the coast.
Best time to visit
February to May — dry season; Camiguin year-round diving.
