Cavite province is best known for Tagaytay City -- the ridgeline town above Taal Volcano and Lake with cool air and sweeping views. The Corregidor Island heritage site (WWII fortifications) is accessible by ferry from Cavite's coast. The province is also the site of the Aguinaldo Shrine, birthplace of Philippine independence.
Getting there
Fly MNL-LAO (Laoag) or take a 6-8 hr Victory Liner bus from Manila.
Best time to visit
November to April — dry season with pleasant temperatures.
