Benguet province in the Cordillera surrounds Baguio City with high-altitude vegetable farms, strawberry fields and the iconic La Trinidad strawberry farm. The gold and silver mines of Itogon are one of the country's largest. Atok and Kabayan have mummified Ibaloi remains -- the Philippine 'Mummies of the Andes'. Cool mountain air throughout the year.
Getting there
Bus from Manila (Victory Liner / Genesis) to Baguio, ~5-6 hrs. For Sagada, jeepney or van from Baguio.
Best time to visit
November to April — cool, dry weather perfect for trekking.
