Antique province on Panay's west coast faces the Sulu Sea and is one of the least-visited provinces in the Visayas -- pristine coastline, the Malumpati spring, Mararison Island (tiny, pristine sandbar) and the Hamtik Festival. San Jose (Antique) is the provincial capital. Best reached from Iloilo City by bus (3 hrs) or by island ferry.

Fly MNL-LGP (Legazpi) or overnight bus/train from Manila.
Best time to visit
March to May — whale shark season; November to April for hiking.
