Zoobic Safari Subic — Tigers, Crocs & Wildlife Encounter
About this tour
Zoobic Safari sits inside the Subic Bay Freeport rainforest and is the Philippines' most visited wildlife attraction, home to over 1,500 animals across a sprawling forested property that retains much of its original jungle character. Unlike a typical concrete zoo, the animals here live in large enclosures that incorporate the native rainforest — meaning encounters feel genuinely wild rather than caged.
The centrepiece is Tiger Safariworld, a heart-stopping experience where visitors board a reinforced steel-cage jeepney that drives into an open enclosure containing Siberian tigers. Raw chicken is lowered through slots in the cage roof and the tigers leap and wrestle for the meat while passengers photograph from inches away. It is the closest most people will ever get to a large wild cat and the adrenaline is real — even knowing the cage is secure does not fully quiet the instinct when 200 kg of tiger launches past the window.
Crocolandia houses both Philippine freshwater crocodiles (critically endangered, bred for release programs) and massive saltwater crocodiles — some exceeding 4 metres — in enclosures where the viewing is genuinely close and the attendants incredibly casual around animals that could end a conversation very quickly. The ZooBotanic section covers a wide range of Philippine endemic species: the Philippine tarsier, Palawan bearcat, Philippine duck, and numerous hornbill species. The whole property can be explored in 3-4 hours at a comfortable pace, making it an excellent family half-day that pairs well with an afternoon at Subic Bay beach.
