Puerto Galera Scuba Diving Day Trip (Sabang, La Laguna)
About this tour
Puerto Galera on the northern coast of Mindoro Island is one of the Philippines' most legendary dive destinations, and arguably Asia's best-kept open secret. The Verde Island Passage โ rated the world's centre of marine biodiversity by Conservation International โ runs just offshore, and the reefs of Sabang and La Laguna are packed with life that rivals Tubbataha and Apo Island at a fraction of the planning effort.
This day trip covers two guided boat dives chosen by your PADI divemaster based on conditions and your certification level. Sabang's top sites include The Canyons โ a series of parallel rock gutters alive with large pelagics, lionfish, and dense fusilier schools โ and Hole in the Wall, a dramatic swim-through carved into a coral ridge. La Laguna's Small Wall is a macro-photographer's dream: ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, Coleman shrimp, and nudibranchs so vivid they look computer-generated. Dive depths range from 8 to 28 metres depending on the site.
All scuba equipment is provided (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tank). The divemaster provides a full briefing, in-water supervision, and post-dive debriefing. Between dives, relax on the dive boat with snacks and cold water while the crew refills tanks. A casual lunch at a Sabang beachside restaurant is included before the second dive. Puerto Galera's reefs have recovered spectacularly from past bleaching events and are now among the healthiest in Luzon โ visibility frequently exceeds 25 metres. Book at least a day ahead as slots are limited per dive group.
