Cebu Couples Diving Discovery (First Dive Together)

The first time you breathe underwater is one of the most transformative sensory experiences available to any traveller — and doing it together, as a couple, with a patient private instructor taking you simultaneously, creates a shared memory unlike anything else. This discover scuba experience is designed specifically for two people who have never dived before and want to experience it together.

The session begins with 45 minutes of pool training at the dive centre: your instructor teaches mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, and hand signals until both of you are comfortable and confident. No written exam, no stress — just practice in 1.5 metres of pool water with the instructor demonstrating and you copying. When you're ready, the boat takes you 15 minutes offshore to a shallow reef (6-8 metres maximum depth for discover scuba participants) where the coral and marine life reward the effort immediately.

The dive itself is 30-45 minutes at a maximum of 8 metres depth. The instructor holds both of you by the hand for the first descent and the first minutes of the dive, releasing as you find your buoyancy and relax. Cebu's reefs are some of the most biodiverse in the world — nudibranchs, clownfish, lionfish, sea turtles, and large schools of snapper are consistently present at the dive sites used for this experience. An underwater photographer can be arranged to document the dive (additional cost, highly recommended — the images from your first dive together are extraordinary).
