Bagasbas Beach in Daet, Camarines Norte, is one of the Philippines' most underrated surfing destinations — a long Pacific-facing beach with consistent waves year-round, a well-established local surf instructor community, and a completely relaxed, uncrowded vibe that makes it ideal for beginners learning the sport and intermediates working on their technique.

The beach picks up northeast swell from October to February and southeast swell from April to September, meaning wave quality is consistent almost year-round. The waves at Bagasbas are typically 2-4 feet — perfect for learning — with occasional 6-foot+ sets during typhoon swell season that excite the intermediate riders. The beach break has a sandy bottom, making it much more forgiving for falls than the reef breaks at Puraran or La Union.

The 3-hour surf session includes a 30-minute beginner lesson with a local certified instructor (how to paddle, pop up, and read waves), 2.5 hours of surf time with the board, and all equipment. The instructor stays with beginners throughout, pushing them into waves and offering technique feedback. By the end of 3 hours, most beginners have stood up and ridden multiple waves to shore.
