How to Get to El Nido
By Air and Van
The most common route: fly into Puerto Princesa (PPS) from Manila on Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, or AirAsia, then take a shared van north to El Nido. The van journey takes 5 to 6 hours and costs 600 to 800 pesos.
Direct Flights to El Nido
Air Juan and SkyJet operate direct flights from Manila to El Nido Airport. This cuts total travel time to under 2 hours but runs a limited schedule - check availability well in advance as seats sell out quickly in peak season.

Getting Around El Nido
El Nido town is walkable - the main strip, most guesthouses, and the boat pier are within 10 minutes on foot. Tricycles take you further for 20 to 50 pesos. For beaches outside town like Nacpan (12 km north), rent a motorbike at 500 to 700 pesos per day or take a shared van.

Staying in town puts you closest to the boat pier, restaurants, and nightlife. Accommodation ranges from fan-cooled dorm rooms at 400 pesos per night to air-conditioned guesthouses at 1,200 to 2,500 pesos.

El Nido town has an excellent food scene. For fresh seafood, head to the grill stalls along the beachfront where you pick your fish or prawns from ice and they cook it over charcoal. Budget Planning for El Nido
Budget travelers can manage on 1,500 to 2,000 pesos per day including accommodation, food, and one island-hopping tour. Final Thoughts
El Nido rewards travelers who slow down. Give yourself at least 4 days - 5 or 6 is better. Do all four tours if you can. Rent a motorbike and get lost on Nacpan road. Watch the sunset from Las Cabanas at least once. The photographs you take will be extraordinary, but the memory of being inside Big Lagoon for the first time - the silence, the emerald water, the cliff walls rising impossibly around you - that is something no photograph has ever quite captured.
