Amihan season (November–May) — the classic
Northeast winds flatten White Beach into the calm, swimmable lagoon in the brochures. December to February brings the clearest skies and the coolest evenings — and the highest prices.
- Holy Week and Christmas–New Year: the island at maximum capacity. Book months ahead or skip entirely.
- March–May: hotter and busier, but the water stays glassy on the White Beach side.
Habagat season (June–October) — the trade
Southwest winds flip the island: White Beach gets choppy while Bulabog on the east side turns into a kiteboarding paradise. Rates drop 30–40% and the crowds thin out.
- Rain comes in bursts, not all-day storms — mornings are usually fine.
- Some restaurants trim hours; the island feels local again.
The sweet spots
Late October to mid-December and May are the shoulder windows most regulars pick: mostly-dry weather, real beach days, and prices still off their peaks. If you want one safe answer — go in May, after the Holy Week surge, when the sea is at its calmest.
