Baguio is the classic Manila escape: four to six hours up the mountain and the air drops to jacket weather. This loop keeps driving to a minimum so the weekend feels like a break, not a commute.
Day 1 — the classics
- Morning: strawberry fields at La Trinidad — pick-your-own opens early; go before the buses arrive.
- Midday: lunch at the public market or a session road café, then Burnham Park for the lake and the flower-clock crowd.
- Afternoon: Mines View for the pasalubong stalls, then the quieter Botanical Garden next door.
- Evening: dinner along Session Road and an early night — tomorrow starts with fog.
Day 2 — the quieter side
- Morning: sunrise at BenCab Museum or Camp John Hay’s pine trails — both calm before 9 AM.
- Midday: ube and strawberry jams from Good Shepherd (the view is free even when the jars sell out).
- Afternoon: kape and pastries in a hillside café, then home ahead of the Sunday rush.
Practical notes
- Leave Manila before 5 AM or after dinner — midday departures hit the worst of Marcos Highway.
- Pack a real jacket. 15–18°C feels colder after Manila humidity.
- Book stays near the city centre; the charm is walking, and parking is the weekend bottleneck.
