Twin Rock Beach & Binurong Point — Catanduanes

Catanduanes is one of the Philippines' most dramatically beautiful and least-visited islands, and its two star natural attractions — Twin Rock Beach and Binurong Point — showcase the island's raw, Pacific-facing character perfectly. Twin Rock Beach takes its name from two massive volcanic boulders rising from the surf at the northern end of a long, curved beach of distinctive dark volcanic sand, with a gently sloping seafloor ideal for swimming even when the Pacific swell is running. The combination of dark sand, emerald water, and twin rock sentinels is unlike any other beach in Bicol.

From Twin Rock Beach, the tour continues by motorcycle or tricycle to the trailhead of Binurong Point — a 45-minute trek through forest to a clifftop viewpoint at approximately 200 metres elevation. The view from Binurong Point looks east over the open Pacific, with a chain of offshore islands and islets stretching to the horizon, while the cliffs drop directly to the crashing waves below. On clear days the view extends to the mountains of Samar across the water. This is widely regarded as one of the top 10 most dramatic viewpoints in the entire Philippines.

The full 5-hour tour pairs both attractions with a fresh seafood lunch at a beach restaurant near Twin Rock, and travel between sites by motorcycle (the most authentic Catanduanes transport experience). The trekking route to Binurong Point is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels.
