About this tour

Romblon has a secret among the Philippine diving community: some of the best and least-crowded reef diving in the country. The Romblon Passage funnels nutrient-rich currents between the Sibuyan Sea and the Tablas Strait, creating ideal conditions for coral growth and pelagic fish aggregations. Because Romblon receives a fraction of the tourist traffic of Tubbataha or Anilao, the reefs are in exceptional condition and dive sites rarely see more than a handful of divers in a day.

The San Pedro Wall is Romblon's signature dive: a vertical reef face that starts at 5 metres and drops past 40 metres to a sand slope, draped in sea fans, black corals, and soft corals of extraordinary density. The wall is a permanent address for hawksbill turtles, schooling jacks, and barracuda, and in the deeper sections (25–35m) grey reef sharks and occasional thresher sharks have been documented. The current sweeps along the wall with enough force to make drift diving thrilling without being dangerous for intermediate divers.

The Blue Hole is the day's second dive: a circular collapse feature in the reef at around 15 metres that opens into a descending tunnel system with spectacular light penetration in the morning. The walls inside are colonised by tunicates, nudibranchs, and encrusting corals that thrive in the reduced light. It's a genuinely atmospheric dive — calm, slightly otherworldly, and usually done in complete solitude. Tanks and equipment are provided by the local dive operator, who also arranges boat and surface interval refreshments. Book via Klook for a confirmed two-tank dive day with PADI-certified guide.
