About this tour

Rizal province sits just east of Metro Manila but feels worlds away — a landscape of rolling hills, rivers, and waterfalls that serve as the capital's adventure playground. Two of its best natural sites combine perfectly into a single full-day escape: Daranak Falls and the Tinipak River.

Daranak Falls in Tanay is a tiered white-water cascade dropping into a wide natural pool surrounded by forest. Unlike many Philippine waterfalls, Daranak has excellent facilities — clean picnic areas, changing rooms, and a small restaurant — making it ideal for families and groups. The water is bracingly cold, crystal clear, and swimmable year-round. The surrounding gorge offers rope swings, cliff jumping platforms (optional), and natural rock slides. A smaller falls, Batlag Falls, sits a short walk away and is quieter and more intimate.

After Daranak, the tour moves to the Tinipak River in Daraitan — a stretch of jade-green water flowing through towering limestone walls draped with hanging vines. Kayaking the Tinipak takes you through narrow canyon passages, past ancient rock formations etched with Dumagat indigenous petroglyphs, and into hidden pockets of old-growth forest. The combination of waterfall swimming and river kayaking makes this one of the most satisfying nature days within reach of Manila.
