Caramoan Islands Tour — Survivor Filming Location
About this tour
The Caramoan Peninsula at the eastern tip of Camarines Sur contains some of the most dramatically beautiful islands in the entire Philippines — towering limestone karst formations rising from turquoise water, with beaches of powdery white sand that served as the backdrop for multiple Survivor franchise seasons (France, Belgium, South Africa, and others). If the islands look familiar from television, it's because they are genuinely as extraordinary as they appear on screen — the production teams chose Caramoan from candidates across Southeast Asia.
The full-day island hopping tour covers 5-7 islands depending on weather and tide conditions, typically including Matukad Island (limestone cliffs with a freshwater lake inside the island, accessible by a short cave scramble), Lahos Island (the most photogenic Survivor filming beach), Sabitang Laya (a double sandbar connecting two rock outcrops), and Burias Island (excellent snorkelling over reef gardens).
The islands are still relatively difficult to reach — the journey from Naga City involves a 2-hour land transfer plus a 45-minute banca crossing — which keeps crowds manageable compared to El Nido or Boracay. That combination of dramatic scenery and relative inaccessibility is exactly why Survivor chose Caramoan repeatedly.
