Smart Communications: The Coverage Leader
Smart PLDT group is the largest telecoms operator by coverage area. Smart SIM: PHP 40, at airports, SM malls, 7-Eleven. Best packages: 15GB for PHP 299 per 30 days. Smart tends to outperform Globe in Eastern Visayas, Mindanao, and remote Palawan.
Globe Telecom: The Urban Performer
Globe Ayala Group is the number 2 carrier but arguably has the best 4G and 5G performance in major cities: Metro Manila, Cebu City, Davao, and BGC. GoSURF packages: 15GB for PHP 299 per 30 days. Globe outperforms Smart in Metro Manila, Cebu City, and Boracay.
DITO Telecommunity
DITO launched in 2021. PHP 299 gets 25GB per 30 days -- better value on data allowance. Coverage has expanded rapidly but still has gaps on smaller islands. Use as a secondary SIM for value.

Buying as a Tourist
