Dahilayan Adventure Park: Riding Asia's Longest Zipline

Dahilayan Adventure Park sits at 1,400 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Kitanglad mountain range in Bukidnon Province, about 1.5 hours from Cagayan de Oro City. It is most famous for the Dropzone Zipline, which at its longest run extends over 4 kilometers and drops nearly 500 meters in elevation - one of the longest and highest commercial ziplines in Asia. But Dahilayan is far more than a single adrenaline rush: the park has multiple zipline routes, a cable car, a zip-coaster, an alpine coaster, and a full range of other adventure activities, all set against cool mountain air and pine-studded slopes that feel nothing like the tropical lowlands an hour below.

The Ziplines

The Dropzone (4 Kilometers)

The headline attraction. You launch from a wooden platform at 1,400 meters, clip onto a cable suspended above a valley, and descend at speeds reaching 80 to 100 kilometers per hour over 4 kilometers of open air. The descent takes approximately 3 to 4 minutes. On clear days you can see all the way to the Macajalar Bay and the Mindanao Sea. On foggy days, which are common at this elevation, the cloud engulfs you partway through the run and you emerge from a white void into clear air over the valley below. Both experiences are extraordinary, just different. This is the longest zipline run at Dahilayan and the one worth traveling specifically to experience.

Shorter Zipline Courses

For those who want to zipline without committing to the full 4-kilometer run, Dahilayan has several shorter parallel courses ranging from 300 meters to 1 kilometer. These are suitable for children (minimum weight and age requirements apply), first-time zipliners who want to build confidence, and those who simply want multiple shorter runs rather than one long one.

Other Activities

Alpine Coaster

A track-mounted gravity coaster that descends through the forest. You control your own speed via a hand brake, which means you can go slow and scenic or let gravity take over for a fast, swooping descent. Popular with families and those who want the sensation of speed without the height exposure of the zipline.

Cable Car Ride

A slow, scenic cable car ride across a valley section of the park. Good for those who want the view without the adrenaline, and an excellent way to see the park layout from above before deciding which activities to prioritize.

ATV Rides

All-terrain vehicles available for rental at the park, allowing guests to explore the perimeter trails and the agricultural land surrounding the resort. Popular with groups who want a more active exploration of the mountain landscape.

The Weather and Elevation Experience

Dahilayan's altitude means the air temperature is typically 15 to 22 degrees Celsius - dramatically cooler than the 30-plus degrees in CDO or Manila. Bring a light jacket or hoodie regardless of how warm it felt when you left the city. The park is often foggy in the morning and may clear in the afternoon, though cloud coverage at 1,400 meters is genuinely unpredictable. Fog on the zipline is atmospheric rather than dangerous - the safety equipment operates independently of visibility.

Getting to Dahilayan Adventure Park

From Cagayan de Oro City, take a bus or van to Manolo Fortich town in Bukidnon (about 1 hour), then a tricycle or habal-habal (motorbike) up the mountain road to Dahilayan (30 to 40 minutes). The total journey is 1.5 hours. Most CDO tour operators offer Dahilayan day trips that include transport and entrance - this is the most convenient option. Our Dahilayan Adventure Park tour includes transportation from CDO and entrance fees. Self-drive visitors can reach the park via the National Highway through Bukidnon.

Practical Tips

Combining Dahilayan with CDO

Dahilayan is most often combined with white-water rafting on the Cagayan de Oro River as part of a 2-night CDO adventure stay. The river on day 1, Dahilayan on day 2 - that combination delivers the full range of CDO's adventure credentials and leaves you with a very different pair of adrenaline experiences to compare. Both are genuinely world-class at what they do. See our CDO white water rafting guide for details on the river experience.
