Day-by-day itinerary

1. • Beach theory

     Twenty minutes on the sand — paddling form, the pop-up drill and surf etiquette.

   • White-water practice

     In the shallows catching reform waves with the instructor pushing you in.

   • Green-wave attempts

     Out a little deeper for your first unbroken wave — most students stand by hour two.
